People Over Profits.

A Voice That Can't Be Bought

ESPOIR NGABO is running for Congress to protect the community that gave him a home. We deserve better than the “lesser of two evils”. We deserve a choice that puts PEOPLE, PLANET & PEACE OVER PROFITS.

Espoir

Build Community.

Break Corporate Control.

Agitate, Educate, and Organize.

That is Espoir’s plan to shift the tides while in Congress. Be a part of history to make him the first third-party candidate to represent TX-7.

The Change We Demand

Espoir’s full political platform is broken into three parts: (1) Saving Democracy (apolitical procedural policies), (2) Green Party Platform (socialists/leftist policies) and (3) District Platform (TX-7 policies).

Each topic includes links to explainer videos, think-tank proposals, and active legislation in Congress (where available) — we aren’t attempting anything that hasn’t been proposed before. Espoir encourages all voters to explore the full platform (linked here) and send feedback to the campaign.

ESPOIR’S TOP PRIORITIES:

(A) Make America Affordable Again: Since 2020, prices in America have risen roughly 25% because of skyrocketing housing costs, creeping insurance costs, and corporate price-gouging. View full video from former Labor Secretary, Robert Reich here. Espoir plants to:

  • Lower Housing Costs: Housing costs rise when land developers only build what’s most profitable. Congress can step in to expand affordable housing, protect older apartments and invest in storm-resilient construction to lower insurance.

  • Implement Universal Healthcare: We must stop treating health as a profit center and guarantee free, universal, single-payer care, so no Houstonian goes bankrupt staying alive.

  • Raise to $25 Minimum Wage:  Raise the wage to meet the cost of living and tie it to inflation!

(B) Improve Houston Infrastructure: Over the past 40 years, FEMA has declared disasters 52 times in the Greater Houston area, with more than a third of these events occurring since 2015 (see Kinder Institute). Rapid development, aging drainage infrastructure, and decades of car-centric planning have left neighborhoods vulnerable. Espoir plans to:

  • Increase Investment in Flood Mitigation: We must improve drainage systems, restore the bayous and invest in green infrastructure to help protect neighborhoods before disasters strike.

  • Increase Federal Support for Reliable Public Transit: Houston traffic has always been famous, but this has gone too far. Reliable public transit will reduce congestion, shorten commutes, and connect working families to jobs across greater Houston.

  • Advocate for Participatory Budgeting: Participatory budgeting is  where community members directly vote on how to spend a portion of a public budge such as infrastructure improvements or community programs. Originating in Brazil, this model increases civic engagement, trust, and transparent government spending. It is used in at least 64 cities across USA.

(C) Enact Election Reform: Election reform is essential to restore real choice for voters and accountability for politicians. Espoir plans to:

  • Remove Money from Politics: Repeal Citizens United and get corporate money out of our elections. The incumbent in this race takes thousands from AIPAC & corporate PACs. I take zero. My only "special interest" is the people of this district.

  • Enact Public Funding of Elections: We are all equal. No one should be able to buy elections. We need to level the playing-field by matching small-dollar donations with public funds.

  • Advocate for Ranked Choice Voting (RCV): We must get rid of the winner-takes all system of plurality voting. It has only given us a “lesser of two-evils”. We should rank candidates in order of preferences instead of just choosing one. This guarantees your vote still counts if your first pick isn’t selected. Whoever is elected under RCV better represents the will of the people.

Texans First

I’m offering a choice that can’t be bought. My platform is built on integrity and a commitment to our own backyard. Investing in flood control and transit while standing firmly against injustice abroad. It’s time to bring a voice to D.C. that puts People over Profits

The Price We Pay

Our elected officials have a blank check for end-less wars and an empty wallet for Houston.

The system is not broken; it is working exactly as intended for the people who bought it. We send our neighbors to die for corporate interests while D.C. ignores our crumbling infrastructure and safety. While the cost of groceries rise every week, billionaires hoard more wealth than at any point in modern history.

I’m not running to join the status quo. I’m running to END THE HEIST.

Take the Power Back

We don't need corporate millions. We need you.
